Our lawyer, Me Patricia Zafihary-Gautier, recently secured a favourable judgment for her client in a case involving custody and school choice, bringing an end to a shared custody arrangement that had been in place for over five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parents, who had lived together, separated several years ago. Since then, the child had been in shared custody, alternating between the mother\u2019s home and the father\u2019s home in another city. As the child is set to begin school in September, this arrangement became impractical due to the distance between the two homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother sought custody during the school year to ensure greater stability for the child. The father opposed the change, even though the child had always attended daycare near the mother\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
