The hearing at the Sherbrooke Courthouse involved a DYP-related matter—physical abuse of a one-and-a-half-year-old child and risk of abuse of a two-month-old baby. The two children had been removed from their family environment for nearly two months. Contact with them had been severely reduced, limited to only two sessions of two hours per week with the mother. The father was prohibited from any contact with them whatsoever.

The child endangerment and physical abuse charges were withdrawn, and the parents were able to reunite with their children once again, unsupervised.

We are proud of our associates, who skilfully applied their legal arsenal to remedy this terrible injustice and bring to light the DYP’s woeful understanding of the case.

Our clients don’t always win their case.
