The opposing party (father) was seeking sole custody due to an intervention by the DYP at the mother’s home.

In fact, the DYP intervened in that case, stating that the children’s health and safety had been compromised by the questionable discipline imposed by the mother’s spouse on the two children.

The Superior Court’s written judgment provides for the continuation of joint custody and that the mother must gradually reintroduce the children to her spouse for two months.
